TEXT: 1 JOHN 2: 15
“Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him” (1 John 2: 15).
A story was told about a Christian girl who lost her salvation and other Christian experiences while in the university. She was the only child of her Christian parents. She was committed to her local church and was admired for her Christian virtues. On entering the university, she identified with the Christian fellowship. Shortly after, she mixed up with a notorious group of girls who thrived on worldliness and various forms of social vices. She ended up losing her salvation, other Christian experiences and a bright future. The worldly never think that they are until they are ruined. “Worldliness is what a particular culture does to make sin look normal and righteousness to look strange”, said David Wells. You see the irony of the situation? Whoever you are, the warning is, “Love not the world.” Satan lures youths with money, cult, latest fashion, pornography, movies and worldly music. Do not be destroyed by the influence of bad friends. Steer clear of the world; stay with Christ, and live with heaven in view.

Challenge: If you are wise, let the world pass, lest you pass away with the world.
Prayer: Dear Lord, grant me the grace to flee the world and its allurements.
Quote: Steer clear of the world; stay with Christ.
