SERVING CHRIST UNKNOWINGLY
TEXT: MATTHEW 25: 40
“And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me†(Matthew 25: 40).
A story was told about Nelly, who cared for her house-bound mother in-law, Joan. Nelly hated washing Joan’s feet but did it grudgingly. One day, her attitude changed as she was washing Joan’s feet and suddenly felt like she was washing the feet of Jesus Himself. Thereafter, she felt honoured to wash her mother in-law’s feet. This is instructive for youths who grumble when serving others. A call to salvation is a call to serve the Lord. When you serve others, you are serving Christ. With your limited resources, God expects you to feed the hungry, give water to the thirsty, assist the poor, welcome strangers and visit the sick. The needy are all around you. Any help you render to others is precious before God and will earn you the King’s welcome to eternity. Don’t be weary of well doing.
Challenge: Seize every God- given opportunity to serve others.
Prayer: Dear Lord, help me to serve others with joy, in Jesus’ name.
Quote: Serving others is serving Christ.
