MFM Mountain Top Life Daily Devotional 9 July 2019 By Dr. D.K Olukoya – You Will Sing A New Song
TOPIC: You Will Sing A New Song (Mountain Of Fire and Miracle Ministries, MFM Daily Devotional 9 July 2019)
BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Job 38-40; Acts 16:1-21
FIRE SCRIPTURE: Exodus 15:1-11
MEMORY VERSE: “O sing unto the LORD a new song; for he hath done marvellous things: his right hand, and his holy arm, hath gotten him the victory.” – Psalms 98:1
God gives new songs to His children both in the day and in the night (Job 35:10). God expects us (His children) to sing new songs when there is a new occasion of triumph and each time we experience His intervention or mighty works (salvation, deliverance, healing, divine provision and breakthrough, preservation, etc). That is why our memory verse for today enjoins us to “sing unto the LORD a new song; for he hath done marvellous things: his right hand, and his holy arm, hath gotten him the victory.” People, who appreciate the priceless work of God sing new songs to Him all the time.
Our Fire Scripture paints a graphic picture of the reaction of the children of Israel to their dramatic deliverance from 430 years in Egyptian bondage and slavery. A whole nation was in captivity and slavery for 430 years! The captors were not willing to release them until God intervened and forcefully liberated His children, killing Pharaoh and his hosts in the Red Sea. The Israelites sang a new song unto the Lord, their Deliverer. You will sing a new song also, in Jesus’ name. In Exodus 15:21, Miriam, Moses’ sister, sang back to the joyous congregation, saying, “Sing ye to the LORD, for he hath triumphed gloriously; the horse and his rider he has thrown into the sea.”
A new song is a product of God’s visitation. It is the product of divine joy birthed by God’s wonderful works among mortals. Whenever God does great, marvelous and unsearchable things without number and mankind marvels, their reaction is usually to sing new songs to Him. People sing new songs to God each time they experience unbelievable provision, unimaginable and divine healing, great victories and so on. Judges 5 is devoted to chronicling the Song of Deborah and Barak. When God gave His children victory over their enemies, they composed and sang those songs to Him. David, the greatest king Israel ever had, composed several new songs for the Lord throughout his lifetime. He never lost any battle and God’s presence was mighty in his life. In Psalm 40:3, David said that God had put a new song in his mouth. To have a personal relationship with God is to have a new song in your heart. You see, salvation and song are inseparable because the joy of the Lord generates music in the soul. When a person is in fellowship with the Lord through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, that person has a new song to praise the Lord.
Similarly, when God chose Mary, blessed and highly favoured her among all women and used her for a major divine assignment, Mary’s response in appreciation of heaven’s kind gesture was a new song. A song is new because no one has sung it before. Mary’s song, also called the Magnificent, is contained in Luke 1:46-55.
Beloved, when you have and sing a new song, it means that heaven has opened the Book of Remembrance concerning you and has favoured you. It also means that heaven has destroyed the Goliath troubling your destiny. The women of Israel sang a new song when God used David to defeat Goliath and conquered the Philistine army. It also means that your problem has been made to expire and your night has been turned to day. If you are a child of God, you are entitled to a new song. Ask God for it and He will give it to you. However, if you are not born again, you must first give your life to Christ and accept Him as Your personal Lord and Saviour. Then, He will give you a new song.
IF CREATION SPEAKS THE PRAISES OF MY GOD, SO WILL I!
You and your household will sing a new song unto the Lord today.
O Lord, make me a candidate of your wondrous works throughout my lifetime, in the name of Jesus.
My Father, usher me into the season of unending and unalloyed joy, in the name of Jesus.
O God, arise and give me new songs every day, in the name of Jesus.
Father, as You put new song in David’s mouth, arise and put new songs in my mouth and my family today, in the name of Jesus.
O God, as You turned the life of Mary to a wonder, turn my life to a wonder, in the name of Jesus.
My Father, set me apart for special and wonderful use in Your kingdom as You did for Deborah and Barak, in the name of Jesus.
My Father, baptise me with favour and new songs, in the name of Jesus.
