Psalm 5:11 (NIV)

But let all who take refuge in you be glad; let them ever sing for joy. Spread your protection over them, that those who love your name may rejoice in you.

We can miss one of prayer’s great gifts to us—supernatural joy. This joy is not based upon circumstances (either good or bad); it is for those who are willing to seek after God. The Psalms are filled with the claim that those who are after God will find Him, and in that place of finding is great joy. The challenge in our busy world is to make the time to take refuge in prayer, but the benefits are life changing.
