TEXT: 1 SAMUEL 18: 5
“And David went out whithersoever Saul sent him, and behaved himself wisely: and Saul set him over the men of war, and he was accepted in the sight of all the people, and also in the sight of Saul’s servants” (1 Samuel 18: 5).
The Bible is replete with young men who lived in wisdom and were promoted to positions of authority. Our text cites David as one of such men. He behaved himself wisely before King Saul which earned him favour and promotion. Daniel was promoted above the Presidents and Princes because he had an excellent spirit (wisdom). Someone wrote: “True wisdom is the secret of successful living here on earth and also having eternal life…” Are you wise? True wisdom breeds promotion. It helps one to know what to say or do at the right time and in the proper way. It is acquired through first, reverential fear of God. Second, by personal life experience. Third, by the experiences of others, including: reading widely, researching, and listening to good counsels. Surrender to Christ today and gain access to the Holy Spirit who is the best teacher and He will empower you to live in wisdom before all men. God’s wisdom will keep you in the path of righteousness and promote you above your equals. Ask God for wisdom today (James 1: 5).

Challenge: The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom: so, fear God.
Prayer: Dear Lord, please help me to live my life in wisdom.
Quote: Ask God for wisdom.
