To remain zealous for God, we must beware of sin and also of persecution. Because iniquity shall abound, the love of many will grow cold, Matt.24:12. The darkness prevailing in the world seeks to becloud your zeal for God. Continue to hate sin and love righteousness, Heb.1:9. Continue to focus on God’s mercies towards you in Christ and let it motivate you to present your body holy unto God and to also keep renewing your mind, Rom.12:1-2. Keep remembering that you are dead to sin, Rom.6:11. Keep looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of your faith, Heb.12:2. The more you know that you are righteous, the more you will manifest that righteousness.
Don’t allow persecution to dampen your zeal like it did to Elijah, 1Kings 19:1-4. Elijah thought he was the only prophet of God left in the land of Israel, but he was very wrong, 1Kings 19:10&18. Don’t feel alone or that you are the only one going through what you are going through. We resist the devil by being steadfast in the faith, 1 Peter 5:8-11 (NIV). Don’t let anything shake or move your faith.
1 Corinthians 15:58 (NLT) says, so, my dear brothers and sisters, be strong and immovable. Always work enthusiastically for the Lord, for you know that nothing you do for the Lord is ever useless. Keep guarding your heart with all diligence, Prov.4:23. Be fervent in spirit, Rom.12:11. Be zealous for the kingdom of God. Don’t let your concern for your sustenance steal away your passion for doing God’s will. Like Jesus, let your greatest satisfaction come from doing God’s will and finishing it, John 4:34. Carry out God’s purpose for your life with urgency. Forget what is behind and press forth to what lies ahead of you, Phil.3:13-14.
PRAYER: I receive Your grace to keep walking in victory over sin and to remain fervent, despite my trials and persecutions.
