TOPIC: Anointed for Intercession.
Read: Psalms 126:1-2
(A Song of degrees.) When the LORD turned again the captivity of Zion, we were like them that dream.
Then was our mouth filled with laughter, and our tongue with singing: then said they among the heathen, The LORD hath done great things for them.
Memorise: 1 Samuel 30:8
And David enquired at the LORD, saying, Shall I pursue after this troop? Shall I overtake them? And he answered him, Pursue: for thou shalt surely overtake them, and without fail recover all.
Once in a while, a child of God may encounter certain disappointments or losses that make it seem like the enemy is becoming victorious.
In today’s Bible text, David’s city was attacked and his family was taken away in his absence.
He was so shattered and he wept sorrowfully until he summoned the courage to pray.
Please note that David didn’t speak against God or blame Him for not protecting his family, rather, he prayed to know how God would help him handle the situation.
Are you presently blaming God for any loss and do you feel He no longer cares about you?
Is that the reason for any recent misbehaviors and lack of faith?
My dear child, don’t ever make such a mistake of putting blames on God, rather, pray and believe Him to turn things around for your good until you recover all.
I am a living testimony that God can change a man’s story for good.
I implore you to pray fervently until you recover all of God’s promises and blessings.
Father, I will never be stranded in life. Please help me to recover my lost opportunities and glory.
Hymn 17 – There Shall Be Showers of Blessings
1. “There shall be showers of blessing”
This is the promise of love;
There shall be season refreshing
Send from a savior above
Showers of blessing
Showers of blessing we need:
Mercy drops round us are falling
But for the showers we plead.
2. “There shall be showers of blessing”
Precious reviving again;
Over the hills and the valleys;
Sound of abundance of rain.
3. “There shall be showers of blessing”
Send them upon us Oh Lord!
Grant to us now a refreshing;
Come now and honour Thy Word.
4. “There shall be showers of blessing”
Oh, that today thy might fall,
Now as to God we are Confessing,
Now as on Jesus we call!
5. “There shall be showers of blessing”
If we but trust and obey;
There shall be season refreshing,
If we let God have his way.
